Ahmed Musa claims he was forced out of Leicester City

Super Eagles star Ahmed Musa has claimed that he never wanted to leave Premier League side Leicester City after joining Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. Leicester City sold Ahmed Musa to Al Nassr in a £15m deal earlier this month after he scored just five goals for the Premier League campaigners. But there have been some reports that the former Kano Pillars left the Premier League because of the money he will collect in Saudi Arabia.

Ahmed Musa has however rubbished the report while speaking with OwngoalNigeria in an interview. “I wanted to stay in England because that has been my dream for years but what will you do when you’re told a bid has been accepted for you? “I had to move to where I know I will be celebrated. “Talks have been on about how I moved for the money but nobody has considered the fact that Leicester City also sold me for the money. “Transfers can only happen if both parties agree to it and that was my case,” the Nigeria international explained. In 2016, Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa joined Leicester City from CSKA Moscow and scored only five goals for the Foxes in 32 games in all competitions.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Nigeria international Ahmed Musa on Monday night, August 13, scored on his debut for his new club in Saudi Arabia Al Nassr who defeated UAE’s Al Jazira 2-1. Ahmed Musa who started training with his new club recently scored the winning goal for Al Nassr in the 75th minute of the game.
